Qualifying Saturday started off good with good runs in all classes entered. After the second round of qualifiers were over it seemed that the track was losing grip and drying out. The smac trac crew did a great job dealing with the changes and adjusted their track prep accordingly. JConcepts green compound dirt webs worked awesome on the small St. Louis track all weekend. Some tire prep was needed and tire additive was a must.
Main day started very early with one more round of qualifying added for now a total of four rounds. After qualifying was over things would move very quickly with only 2wd and 4wd having triple A mains. I wanted to also make some time to talk and check out some of the TLR supporters on and off the track. St. Louis and the Midwest have some very good competitive racing and I’m glad I got the opportunity to meet some of them. After doing some regular prep to all three cars it was main time. 2wd wasn’t my class all weekend and I need to do more work when I get back home to some of the issues I’m having in this class. 4wd started and finished good for me. The TLR 22-4 with JConcepts green dirt webs in the rear and green barcodes up front were the ticket. From third on the grid, I was able to win A2 and A3 for the overall victory. With a very competitive field I was and I still am very pumped up for this big win! 4wd SCT was also very good all week with times getting faster each time I got on the track. I’ve been testing Trinity’s new zombie STC motor in 4000 KV with its perfect speed for the St. Louis track. The TLR SCT-E 2.0 gripped the track on the same set of JConcepts black barcodes all weekend.
In 2wd SCT, TLR was represented very well all weekend by Spencer Heckert. I has some time to talk with this little guy and his father. Participating in all stock classes with TLR vehicles, with SCT stock being the class that he would bring home the win. Spencer also brought home a 2nd place finish in stock truck. Congrats!
It was my first time at the track they call smac trac, but it won’t be my last. I look forward to making a return visit very soon.
Till next time
